New Magnifying Glass (zoom) feature in Touch and Drawing Modes improves usability and accuracy of “Planimeter – GPS Area Measure” on Android

Zoom feature (Magnifying Glass), recently introduced only in Edit Mode , is available in Touch and Drawing Modes now. It improves usability and accuracy of Planimeter on Android by showing a touch region hidden under your finger and by zooming in an exact spot on the map where a pin is about to be dropped. How it works: - make sure Magnifying Glass is enabled in the app settings.- touch the map and hold your finger to pull up the Magnifying Glass in Touch Mode- move your finger, see zoomed area under it and drop a pin at a desired location.The video below demonstrates two ways to place pins for field marking and measurement. Planimeter on Android: improved UI with new drawer menu.

Drawer MenuOur Android app for GPS tracking and distance/area measurements on Google Maps, Planimeter, has been updated with improvements to option menu. As been mentioned before some users had problems finding option menu on Samsung devices. Now this problem has been resolved with drawer menu that can be reached as before by touching menu button or by swiping from the left edge of the screen.Version 3.8.4 is available on Google Play.

MapTrack: 30 000 miles or 11 months of live tracking.

In August we wrote about MapTrack being used during a trip around the US. Michelin Pressure Calculator Application has been recently published on Google Play. The application calculates proper tire pressure for tractors based on user inputs. VisTech.Projects has participated in this project as a developer.One of distinctive features of this app is the ability to perform measurements on pictures. We have implemented it as a “camera measure module” based on our technology used in Partometer application and adapted it for quick and convenient estimation of wheelbase and other distances needed for pressure calculation.The application is simple and easy to use and has options to save, view and share data reports. Option Menu in MapTrack app contains option to turn sound off. You can call Option Menu using a dedicated button on your device or using a virtual button as shown under #1 on the picture (Nexus 5, KitKat 4.4).Some Samsung devices have different procedure to call the Option Menu. Quick location mapping using address search in “Planimeter – GPS Area Measure”.

Android: Planimeter has been updated with a new feature that helps you to add points on the map using exact addresses of different locations and estimate distance between points and total travel distance. You can also map your favorite addresses on the map and save or export it as KML file.Use LONG touch on My Location button to add pins on the map using address dialog (see video).
